“I am fortunate to have such a compassionate and highly skilled team. They are dedicated and enthusiastic individuals that are committed to meeting your dental needs and goals."
    Esther Lee D.D.S.

I was born and raised in northern British Columbia. I completed the dental assisting program in 1995 and quickly found my niche as a dental receptionist. I am proud to be member of the Riverside Dental Team and to have worked with Dr. Lee since 1998. Dr. Lee’s dentistry combined with her compassionate care for our patients is incomparable. She is a wealth of knowledge, and her passion and love for her profession shows in her work every day.

As the office manager, I am pleased to welcome you to our practice. I look forward to providing you with exceptional service and building a long-term relationship with you based on trust, friendship, and integrity.

I am a busy mother of two. When I'm not driving my kids to their next adventure, I enjoy staying fit and discovering my inner foodie.

I was born and raised in Calgary. I graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Biological Sciences in 2008 and then went on to pursue a Dental Hygiene degree at the University of Alberta, where I graduated with distinction. I love being a hygienist because it gives me the opportunity to build relationships with our many patients and share my knowledge and assist them in achieving good oral health. Knowing that I am able to help our patients meet their dental goals and improve their overall health is truly a rewarding experience.

I am passionate about what I do, and it is wonderful to be part of a team that is as equally passionate and dedicated to providing exceptional dental care. At Riverside, we get to know more than just the patient’s mouth. We take the time to know each individual patient on a personal level. It is great to work for someone like Dr. Lee, because she is deeply dedicated and committed to dentistry and her patients. She strives to not only provide the highest quality that dentistry has to offer, but she goes above and beyond to ensure that every patient feels genuinely cared for.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors, and snowboarding in the winter.

I am originally from Brooks Alberta and have lived in Calgary for the past 2 years. After graduating high school in Brooks, I set off to Edmonton, Alberta to attend the University of Alberta and pursue my Bachelor of Science Degree. In 2011, I completed my Dental Hygiene diploma from the U of A. In 2012, I continued my studies at the University of Alberta and graduated with a BSc with a specialization in Dental hygiene, with distinction.

I’ve always had a passion for the dental industry. With my mother being a dental assistant, I was constantly exposed to the exciting world of teeth. I knew at a young age that I wanted a career in the dental field, and I can honestly say that I love my job. I enjoy helping people optimize their oral health, and help them feel confident with their smile. It is a pleasure to meet such a wide variety of people, and I love the day-to-day interactions with the wonderful staff and patients at Riverside Dental.

When I’m not demonstrating proper flossing technique, you can find me baking in the kitchen, hiking our beautiful mountains, paddle boarding, biking and running, most of which are done with my husband and our dog, Bean. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I am always in search of the perfect cup of coffee.

I grew up in Winnipeg, MB and instantly fell in love with the city of Calgary. I've worked in administration for a number of years and always yearned for something more. As a child I've always loved going to dentist and I realized that I wanted to be that person at the dental office who brings a smile to your face.

Dr Lee has the most caring manner towards her patients and makes them feel like close family or friends. Her attention to detail makes her an awesome dentist and her infection control is impeccable.

These are truly the reasons why I trust my husband and kids in her hands and hope you will too!

I was born and raised in Prince George, BC. I completed Dental Assisting at Okanagan College in Kelowna, BC, where I resided for 4 years before moving to Calgary. As a dental assistant I enjoy the diversity that each day brings and I strive to make sure our patients are as comfortable as possible while in the dental chair and building individual relationships with each of our patients.

Dr Lee is truly invested in her patients and makes sure to get to know each and every one of her patients on a personal level. She has such great attention to detail and take time to make sure each of her patients are as comfortable as possible. Dr Lee is amazing at what she does whether it be a full mouth transformation or helping a child with making sure they're getting the best at home instructions for oral care.

In my spare time I enjoy, going back to my mountain roots and exploring nature. Spending time with my family is really important to me and I'm always up for a good adventure. I am a huge travel bug and would love to see much more of the world!

I was born in Toronto and raised in Calgary. I graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Columbia College. I enjoy working at Riverside Dental and it has been an amazing learning experience. Dr. Lee has taken both the time and effort to teach and show me the foundation of becoming a great dental assistant. The things I love about my profession are both helping and building relationships with our patients. While assisting chairside with Dr. Lee I get to experience her expertise and the passion she has for her patients and dentistry.

When I am not in the office, I love spending time with my beautiful little girl and family and friends in the outdoors.

  • Fillings

Fillings are used to restore a tooth damaged by decay and bring it back to its normal function and shape. Fillings also help prevent further decay by closing off any cracks or spaces where bacteria can enter. If you are in need of a filling, we will work with you to determine which type of filling material is best for you. The best option for you will depend upon the extent of repair you need, where in your mouth the filling will be placed and individual preferences.

Once a filling material is selected, we will remove the decayed tooth material and clean the affected area. Then we will fill the tooth with the filling material of your choice.

  • Crowns

A crown is a restoration that covers a tooth to restore it to its normal shape, size and strength. Crowns are necessary when a tooth is generally broken down and fillings won't solve the problem. If a tooth is cracked, a crown holds the tooth together to seal the cracks so the damage doesn't get worse. Crowns are also used to restore a tooth when there isn't enough remaining tooth structure to provide support for a large filling, to protect weak teeth from fracturing, and to improve the appearance and shape of poorly formed or discolored teeth.

  • Bridges

A dental bridge consists of one or more artificial teeth that are cemented into place using the teeth on either side for support, hence the term “bridge.” A bridge replaces the missing tooth, both functionally and cosmetically. It can restore the natural contours of teeth as well as the proper bite relationship between upper and lower teeth. The materials used may be gold alloys, porcelain bonded to metal alloys, or an all-ceramic material made to match your natural tooth color. As with fillings, we will work with you to determine which choice of material meets your requirements for strength, wear and esthetics.

  • Temporomandibular Joint Disorder

Millions of North Americans suffer from chronic facial and neck pain as well as recurring headaches. In some cases, this pain is due to temporomandibular joint disorder or TMD.

TMD describes a variety of conditions that affect jaw muscles, the temporomandibular (jaw) joint and nerves associated with chronic facial pain. Symptoms may occur on one or both sides of the face, head or jaw. Pain in and around this joint can be unpleasant and intense, and can even restrict movement, limiting the ability to open the jaw.

    What Causes TMD?

Trauma to the jaw or jaw joint can sometimes be a contributing factor in TMD, but in many cases the cause of the disorder is not clear. Most experts suggest that certain mental or physical tasks or challenges (such as being in a stressful situation) may elicit or aggravate TMD. The discomfort of headaches and neck pain can be caused by overuse of the jaw muscles, specifically through clenching or grinding of the teeth (bruxism).

    Symptoms of TMD include:
    • Jaw pain or soreness around the jaw joint
    • Jaw pain when chewing, biting or yawning
    • Frequent headaches or neck pain
    • Muscle spasms in the jaw area
    • Clicking or popping when opening and closing the mouth
    • Difficulty opening and closing the mouth
    • A locked or stiff jaw when talking, yawning or eating
    • Sensitive teeth with no apparent cause
    • Pain, ringing or stuffiness in the ear without an infection
    • A change in the alignment of the top and bottom teeth

If you notice any of these symptoms, we recommend a comprehensive temporomandibular joint (TMJ) examination to determine the appropriate course of treatment.

  • Dental Implants

Dental implants are one of the best options available for replacing teeth that have been lost due to injury, decay, dental root canals or any other reason.

Dental implants bring great comfort to patients both physically and emotionally. They restore the function, comfort and appearance of natural teeth, giving back the pleasure of eating, laughing, and smiling without fear of embarrassment. Implants are not sensitive to heat or cold, and they do not experience decay since they are not natural teeth. This makes them one of the best solutions for missing teeth in individuals of any age.

A dental implant is a "root device,” usually made of a titanium alloy, which is surgically positioned into the jaw. Once the implant is in place and the bone surrounding the implant has had time to heal, a replacement tooth is attached to the root device. Dental implants lack a periodontal ligament, so they will feel slightly different than natural teeth during chewing but, overall, your dental implants will feel very much like natural teeth. You will even be able to floss in between them.

One of the biggest benefits of dental implants is that they protect the other teeth and do not put any strain on the teeth surrounding the implant. To be a good candidate for implants, you need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. With dental implants, you must also be committed to excellent oral hygiene and regular dental visits to maintain the long-term success of your implants. If you are missing teeth, discuss your options with us during a private consultation at our office.

  • Root Canals

Root canal procedures are performed to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. When a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the pulp, a root canal treatment is necessary because once the pulp is infected, it cannot heal on its own. When a tooth is cracked or has a deep cavity, bacteria can enter the pulp tissue and germs can cause an infection inside the tooth. If left untreated, an abscess may form. If the infected tissue is not removed, pain and swelling can result. This can not only injure your jawbones, but it is detrimental to your overall health as it can weaken your immune system. Without the proper treatment, your tooth may have to be removed. Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may cause the nerve to be damaged to the point that it needs root canal therapy as well.

Symptoms that the pulp has become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. However, sometimes there are no symptoms and a patient is unaware there is a problem until a regular dental check-up. This is one of the many reasons that regular cleanings and checkups are important - they can prevent and detect problems early.

Root canal treatment involves one to three visits. A root canal is performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp and disinfect the canals of the tooth. Once the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent further infection. If your tooth had extensive decay, we may suggest placing a crown to strengthen and protect the tooth from breakage. If a tooth require special expertise to ensure the success of the root canal we will refer this procedure to a root canal specialist in our area.

  • Dental Bleaching or Whitening

Coffee, tea, soda, wine, tobacco and medications can discolor teeth, creating a yellow or brown hue. Also, as the enamel on teeth wears down through the years, the teeth become more transparent and the yellow color of dentin, the core material of our teeth, begins to show through, resulting in a discolored yellowish appearance.

Dental tooth whitening or bleaching is a popular and effective procedure that can be used to whiten stained and discolored teeth, or simply to enhance a dull smile. Tooth whitening is a safe and relatively painless procedure ideal for most patients. A dentist-supervised whitening program is the safest and most effective way to achieve a long-lasting brighter and whiter smile.

  • Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can greatly enhance your smile and increase your self-esteem. They are an excellent option for anyone looking to improve the appearance of their smile. Porcelain veneers are made of ultra-thin tooth-colored porcelain that covers the front or visible surface of teeth. The veneers are custom-made for each individual to look like natural teeth, resulting in a beautiful smile.

The advantage of veneers compared to crowns is that much less tooth material is removed. Veneers require minimal removal of tooth structure and are a much more conservative approach to changing a tooth's color, size or shape.

Veneers can correct the following problems:
         - Chipped teeth with rough or jagged edges
         - Unsightly gaps between front teeth
         - Crooked teeth
         - Worn teeth
         - Stained or discolored teeth

  • Porcelain Crowns

Like porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns are made from high-quality porcelain, which gives your teeth a healthy glow and mirrors how your natural teeth react to sunlight. A porcelain crown is thicker than a veneer and it encases the entire tooth surface, restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. A porcelain crown can also be used for cosmetic reasons and each is made to match the shape, size, and color of your teeth.

Porcelain crowns can correct the following problems:
       - Broken or fractured teeth
       - Fractured or large fillings
       - Decayed teeth
       - Cosmetic challenges

  • Bonding

Dental bonding is a non-invasive way to make cosmetic corrections or changes to your teeth. It can be used to repair chipped, discolored or crooked teeth. It can also be used to close small gaps between teeth.

During dental bonding, a tooth-colored composite-resin material is applied and sculpted to your teeth. It’s then hardened with an ultraviolet light, which bonds the material to your teeth. The bonded material is then shaped and polished to produce a lustrous finish that closely matches the appearance of your natural teeth. This procedure can restore and improve a person’s smile, usually in a single appointment.

This composite-resin material is also the cosmetic alternative to the silver amalgam commonly used in fillings and can be used to restore front and back teeth, depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay.

  • Dental Exams

Routine recall examinations with annual X-rays are the best way to assess the health of the gums, the bone supporting the teeth, and the teeth themselves. X-rays not only detect early signs of cavity formation but also show if any bone loss has occurred around the teeth as a result of periodontal (gum) disease.

Periodontal probing is done by taking a series of gum measurements of the pocket depth around each tooth. This is a screening tool used to detect signs of active inflammation and bone loss. Using this information, in combination with other medical risk factors, customized treatment plans are developed to meet each person’s individual oral health needs.

  • Digital X-rays

X-rays of your teeth are important for detecting infection and damage that will require dental attention. In some cases, the only way to detect a problem is from an X-ray. We are committed to providing you with the safest and most convenient treatment options available, which is why we use digital X-rays in our office. Digital X-rays save time, provide clearer dental photos and expose patients to much less radiation. Digital X-rays use up to 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays.

Using digital X-ray technology, we are able to take an X-ray of your mouth using a small sensor (instead of film) to record the image of your teeth. This image is then sent to a computer. The result is a highly detailed image of your mouth that can easily be enhanced to better diagnose dental concerns and determine the very best treatment for you.

We also use digital photography to take photographs of your face, teeth and smile to provide us with a permanent dental record and a visual documentation of the treatment.

  • Dental Cleanings & Hygiene

One of the most important factors contributing to a healthy mouth and smile is good oral hygiene. This includes both good daily home care (brushing and flossing) and coming in on a regular basis for professional cleanings and check-ups.

A professional cleaning mainly consists of scaling and root planing. This is the process of removing tartar, a form of hardened dental plaque from both above and below the gums in areas that are otherwise inaccessible to the toothbrush and floss. Teeth are also polished on an as-needed basis to remove any surface staining. Topical fluoride may be administered to restrengthen enamel and prevent future cavities.

It is important to remember that good oral hygiene doesn’t end with your hygiene appointment. Regular home care, through daily brushing and flossing is equally important in promoting and maintaining a healthy mouth which, in turn, plays a significant role in contributing to one's overall health.

  • Sealants

A sealant is a preventive coating that bonds and hardens directly on to the chewing surfaces of your teeth. Sealants act as a protective barrier from plaque and bacteria by sealing the fine, deep grooves and pits on your teeth that are too narrow to be adequately cleaned by the bristles of your toothbrush. With sealants, brushing your teeth becomes easier and more effective and teeth are less likely to harbor plaque. Sealants are an excellent, cost effective way to help prevent cavities and keep your teeth healthy.

To prevent tooth decay, sealants are typically applied to children's teeth as a preventive measure after the permanent teeth have emerged. Sealants typically last from three to five years, although it is fairly common to see adults with sealants still intact from childhood. Adults can also receive sealants on healthy teeth.

  • Snore Guards

Snoring is a common problem for many people. It affects the quality of sleep of not only the person who snores but also the quality of sleep of other family members sleeping nearby. Snoring can also indicate major health complications.

A person typically snores because the muscles and soft tissues in the throat and mouth relax, making the airway passage smaller. As each breath is forced through this small passage, the rushing air causes the soft tissues in the mouth and throat to vibrate, resulting in the snoring sound. Common causes of snoring include excess body weight, alcohol consumption, sleep aides or sedatives, and sleep apnea. Patients who suffer from sleep apnea stop breathing repeatedly during sleep. A snore guard can help to alleviate symptoms.

A mandibular advancement device (MAD) is the best snore guard solution for many of our patients, giving them a better night's sleep. The MAD is a specially designed dental device that gently helps keep the lower jaw, or mandible, in a forward position, increasing the volume of the airway passage and helping you breathe better so you can get a full, quiet night's sleep. These devices are custom-fitted to your mouth to ensure maximum comfort and safety, so that when you sleep you won't even notice that you're wearing it. We will work with you to tailor a dental device to meet you

  • Mouth and Sports Guards

Injuries to the mouth and jaw are very common among athletes. Whether you wear braces or not, protecting your smile while playing sports is essential. Sports guards are recommended by the Canadian Dental Association to protect your jaw and teeth during physical activity, particularly when you participate in sports such as boxing, basketball, football, gymnastics, soccer or other activities where your mouth may get hit. Sports guards also protect the soft tissues of your tongue, lips and cheek lining.

There are three basic types of sports guards:
    1. Pre-made mouth guards available at most sporting good stores. They are bulky and very little can be done to adjust their fit. They make breathing and talking difficult and they provide little or no protection. We don't recommend this type.
    2. "Boil-and-bite" fitted mouth guards available at many sporting goods stores. The guard, which is made of thermoplastic material, is placed in hot water to soften it. Then you place it in your mouth and use your fingers and tongue to shape it around your teeth. This gives you a better fit than pre-made mouth guards but it still can be bulky and uncomfortable.
    3. Custom-made mouth guards individually designed in our office. First, we take an impression of your mouth to create an exact duplicate model of your teeth. A special material is then molded over this model to create the mouth guard. Because of the materials and work involved, a custom-made mouth guard is more expensive than the other two types, but it will give you the most comfort and the most protection.

Similar to sports guards, night guards are recommended for patients who clench or grind their teeth at night as a way to protect their teeth and bite.

It is important to take care of your mouth guard by storing it properly and keeping it clean. At home, follow these care tips: After each use, gently scrub your mouth guard with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Store it in its protective case and do not leave it in the sun or hot water. Do not chew or cut pieces off of your sports guard. Bring your mouth guard to each dental checkup, so we can check to make sure it's still in good shape and not in need of replacement.

  • First Visit

Both the Canadian and American Academies of Pediatric Dentistry as well as the American Dental Association recommend that a child’s first dental visit be scheduled around his or her first birthday. It is important to make this initial visit to the dentist fun, educational and positive for your child. An enjoyable and comfortable first visit builds trust and helps put the child at ease during future appointments. We strive to develop trust with your child from day one. We use simple and positive words to explain treatment procedures and refrain from using any words that could cause any unnecessary fear in your child. Our goal is to make every child feel safe, comfortable and cared for.

At this appointment we also demonstrate good brushing and flossing techniques and encourage you and your child to actively participate.

A child’s primary (or baby) teeth may begin to emerges as early as four months after birth. These teeth are usually lower incisors, and they are followed closely by the upper incisors. Most children have a full complement of 20 primary teeth by the age of three. The pace and order of emergence can vary from one child to another. Permanent teeth usually begin to emerge around the age of six; however this age can be variable depending on the individual child. Primary teeth play a vital role in proper chewing and eating, providing space for permanent teeth, guiding the permanent teeth into the their correct position, and permitting normal development of the jaw bones, muscles and speech patterns.

We generally recommend that children see a dentist every six months. This may vary depending on your child’s needs, eating habits and oral hygiene.

Riverside Dental is the BEST! Dr. Lee and the staff really take the time to get to know their patients and they are amazing with children. We started bringing our son for dental "chair rides" when he was one to get him comfortable with the environment. He is now four and loves visiting the dentist... the toys and stickers at the end of an appointment don't hurt either. :-) We are so grateful to have such an amazing dentist !!

    - Getsey Chen

My kids love coming to Riverside Dental. It is a fun and nurturing environment. They leave with the skills to properly care for their teeth at home. It is never a struggle to bring them here. The staff are so kind and make them feel comfortable.

    - Marie Wildenborg

My kids like to visit Dr. Lee’s because of the friendly atmosphere, the great care they are given, and the familiarity the staff has with them. They like to be recognized and feel there is a personal touch.

    - Cliff Gelowitz

Dr. Lee’s commitment to establishing good dental practices at an early age has paid off. My three-year-old daughter not only enjoys brushing her teeth, she constantly talks about Dr. Lee and when she can visit again.

    - Gwendolyn Blue

At home, to encourage brushing, we pretend to be Dr. Lee. Today when Jacob found out he was coming to see Dr. Lee, he was so excited and started shouting, “The real Dr. Lee? I get to see the real Dr. Lee?”

    - Jacob 3yrs
    - Terera Arnfinson

My three children have been coming to see Dr. Lee since they were 18 months old. They have always looked forward to their appointments and, as a parent, I feel very comfortable with all of the staff. We have always had a positive experience, and my kids leave excited about their new treasures!

    - Jennifer Kwong

I like going to see Dr. Esther because she teaches me to take care of my teeth. I also like going there because it's so much fun & I always get new toothbrushes!

    - Ishan Durai - 7 years old

I remember the first time we saw Dr. Lee. My oldest son was three and not at all happy to be visiting the dentist! Dr. Lee had him laughing and relaxed in no time. Since then, both my sons, now 20 and 14, love coming here. Dr. Lee and her wonderful staff treat them like family, remembering personal details about their activities. I can’t say enough about how great Riverside Dental is with children. We are all patients for life!

    - Adelina Banks

My daughter woke up this morning and was dressed and ready to go before our alarm even went off. She didn't want to be late to see Dr. Lee. Even yesterday we were playing with her dolls and she was pretending that we were going to see Dr. Lee because she was so excited.

    - Lori M.

Dr. Lee and her team go the extra mile to provide their patients with exceptional dental care. Dr. Lee takes great pride in her work. Our two small children love Dr. Lee and her staff and actually ask to go visit Dr. Lee for a dental visit.

See what our current patients think of us

Our family has been with Dr. Lee since my daughter was 6 years old. She is now 22. You know you have found a great dentist when your children are actually excited to visit her. Esther feels more like a family friend than our dentist. I have had problems with my teeth over the years, including many abscesses. She has always been there for me, getting me in right away in emergency situations and staying late to see me. If Dr. Lee ever moved to another city, I would have to follow her! Esther is very conscientious and always upgrading her skills to give her patients the best care possible. She also surrounds herself with excellent support staff, many of which have stayed with her for years. In the next couple of years, I am planning on retiring to Southern Alberta but will stay with Dr. Lee and make the trip back to Calgary to see her. I wouldn’t even think about going to anyone else.

    Mrs. C. Armstrong

My family has been coming to Dr. Lee at Riverside Dental for the last 10 years because of the fantastic experience and attention to detail we have had at her practice. She and her staff have made it fun for my daughters from their very first dental chair ride with Mr. Thirsty when they were just toddlers. As a result, they now have a positive approach to their own dental hygiene and never argue about brushing their teeth (seriously).

Dr. Lee has also been supportive of our community, donating generously to help build the nearby Helicopter Playground, as well as the West Hillhurst Taste of the Neighbourhood Fundraiser. She has also thrown amazing client appreciation parties at Lloyd's Roller Rink, the Calgary Zoo, and West Hillhurst Community Association that my daughters still talk about!

    Take Care…Marie

My husband and I chose Riverside Dental because of its convenient location close to downtown. We have continued to go back for the last 5 years because of the excellent care that we have received. Dr. Lee and her team provide expert advice and treatment and we have full confidence in their mastery of current dental research and practice. Riverside Dental provides a comfortable, friendly, family-centered environment, and we look forward to introducing our twin baby boys when it is time for their first check-up.

    Kristen Murray

I have been going to Riverside Dental for approximately 10 years, and I cannot say enough about Dr. Lee and her staff. At the risk of sounding like hyperbole, there are not enough positive adjectives to do them justice. Dr. Lee's skills and expertise are beyond exceptional. I have never known a dentist more knowledgeable, competent or dedicated. Unlike other medical professionals that I have dealt with, I do not feel that I have to do my own research to ensure that her prognosis is correct. She has a true passion for her profession which translates directly to her commitment to her patients. Fear not, one doesn't have to sacrifice compassion for skills with Dr. Lee - she is the whole package! You will not find a more empathetic dental professional. She sincerely cares about her patients and makes everyone feel welcome through her kindness and grace. My husband also goes to Riverside Dental as does a close friend and we are all in complete agreement that Dr. Lee is truly a one-of-a-kind dentist and remarkable human being. Of course, it follows that her staff is a reflection of Dr. Lee and can make any dental dread that one may have disappear. Riverside Dental is beyond compare!

I have been with Dr. Esther Lee for over 12 years and have had a consistently great experience throughout. So much that I followed Esther to Riverside Dental and even continued to see her after I moved to the deep S.E. corner of Calgary. Kindness and compassion fill the office from the warm greeting at the front door to the back of the clinic; everyone is always smiling and genuinely happy – which would be hard to fake for that many years... Knowing that Esther and all her staff pay constant attention to my comfort in the chair coupled with Esther’s above and beyond frank advice for both dental and personal matters, I don’t mind visiting the dentist’s office anymore. It's kind of like visiting old friends and catching up with each other’s families while getting my teeth cleaned or the now rare cavity filled... Being slightly germ-phobic, I definitely appreciate the preventative measures and office procedures to ensure my health safety, and I know that Esther constantly attends and even provides presentations to fellow dentists, which is evidence of her dedication to being the best and providing the best health care which is the most important reason I will always see Dr. Esther Lee...

Upon entering Dr. Esther Lee's office I was greeted at the desk with a big smile and felt very welcome. I am so pleased with the dental work that Dr. Esther Lee performed on me, she was very thorough. In fact it was the most thorough exam I have ever had! She went out of her way to give me the best smile for my wedding day. I am very grateful to have found a kind hearted and professional dentist and will continue to recommend her to others!

My family and I have been patients of Doctor Lee for about 17 years. I actually “enjoy” going to the dentist! Doctor Lee and her amazing team are always very professional, friendly, and understanding. I can say with confidence that my family and I receive quality dental care in a clean, comfortable and relaxed setting.

Doctor Lee relates well and is extremely patient with her younger patients. My two daughters have been seeing Doctor Lee since they were about 2 years old. She really helped make their visits a positive experience. I remember when our oldest daughter, Gabrielle, would not get rid of her darn soother when she was about three years old. As a result, this soother was not helping her teeth. Doctor Lee took time out of her busy schedule and tied the soother to a balloon and nicely explained to her that the soother is going to the “Soother Fairy”. What a brilliant idea! After that incident Gabrielle never spoke of her soothers again! I was really amazed by Doctor Lee’s genuine compassion to help Gabrielle feel better and maintain healthy teeth.

Every year Doctor Lee and her staff organize an activity day for the entire family. One year we went to the zoo and another year we went to Calaway Park. My kids always remember Doctor Lee’s generosity and interest in what they are doing. These outings over the years showed my kids to see Doctor Lee and her staff in a different and fun environment.

I always appreciate the time and care Doctor Lee takes whenever I have questions and the thoughtful advice she provides. If my husband, kids, or I have had a difficult filling or crown she will follow up and personally phone us the next day to see if we are feeling better. If we have any pain at all, Doctor Lee will make sure she sees us as soon as possible. Doctor Lee really cares about her practice and patients. I am so grateful for the great care my family and I have had throughout the years. I would never hesitate to recommend Doctor Lee and the team at Riverside Dental to friends.

Thanks for the laughs, great conversations and making us feel comfortable and at ease.

When looking for a family dentist upon our return from Austria in 1998, I canvassed my friends and took notes. I wanted a dentist who put quality of workmanship and patient comfort before everything else. I found this rare duality in Dr. Esther Lee. Not only is Dr. Lee highly skilled and current on the very latest technologies and research, she balances this with a client-centered atmosphere.

For 15 years, I have taken my family to her office, confident that we would all come out smiling, with beautiful teeth. From simple cleaning and exams to very complicated repairs, we have been 100% satisfied. In fact, although I live on Vancouver Island most of the year, I always schedule trips back to Calgary just to get my teeth cleaned and repaired!

Dr. Lee’s love of dentistry is apparent in all she does. She also hires a highly skilled and harmonious staff. I have recommended Dr. Lee to others, and like me, they come away grateful that such dedicated and talented professionals still exist!

I highly recommend Dr. Lee and her entire staff!

This is an amazing dental office. Dr. Lee's standards are very, very high. I had the good fortune to be referred to Dr. Lee by Dr. D. Habijanic, periodontist. Over the past 11 years, Dr. Lee had done 3 implants, 2 bridges and all new crowns. I could not be happier with the results and often receive compliments from total strangers. The nurses are extremely well-trained in all aspects of patient care. Heather, the office manager, works her magic to see that we get an appointment in a timely manner. We would highly recommend Dr. Lee and her team.

I, Cliff Gelowitz, became a patient of Dr. Esther Lee’s when she was our neighbourhood dentist about 15 years ago. The special care, professionalism, and attention to detail makes us keep coming to Dr. Lee’s even though she moved a considerable distance from us. We feel that Dr. Lee and staff are just a group of our friends.

I was lucky enough to find Dr. Lee 16 years ago. My boys, now 14 and 19, have been coming since they were little and both love coming here. I know that sounds weird to say about going to the Dentist but Dr. Lee and her wonderful staff treat us like family and always make us feel welcome and cared for. I trust the care we receive from Riverside Dental!

I had just immigrated to Calgary from England and had a toothache, so I had to find a dentist who would see me on short notice. I had seen Dr. Lee's clinic from the river footpath, so thought I would try it.

She fit me in straight away, but the news was worse than I had thought. I had bad gum disease and needed a lot of treatment in addition to a filling to stop the immediate pain. I have always hated going to the dentist, so I was not looking forward to the amount of work that I required. Six years later and after a lot of care, time, and - yes - money, I now have a brand new set of front teeth. Dr. Lee finished the work just in time for my son's wedding, and I was able to smile in a photograph for the first time in years. She has tried to keep the cost to a minimum and ensured that the work was not just a quick fix but properly done.

Dr. Lee and her staff are very friendly and always caring when you have the treatment done, and I am no longer afraid to go to the dentist. They even sent me a present when I was unwell.

As a busy mother of four children, I have always appreciated the efforts that Riverside Dental has made to make our appointments as smooth and convenient as possible. The hygienist and assistants have been friendly and respectful, making my children feel at ease and valued. And of course, Dr. Lee with her gentle, smiling face and nimble fingers makes a visit to the dentist as pleasant as possible! Dr. Lee has been our dentist for 14 years, and our healthy smiles attest to her skill and diligence.

After moving across the city, I was referred to Esther Lee by another dentist here in Calgary. Esther came highly recommended by my previous dentist as someone whose education and knowledge of dentistry was both extensive and up-to-date. I am impressed by Esther’s expertise, experience and thoroughness and I am very happy to have Esther as my current dentist.

I've been seeing Dr. Lee over 4 years, ever since I moved to Calgary. The clinic is warm and inviting. I feel like Dr. Lee and the staff actually care. The last but the best, I can completely trust them!

When I started looking for a dentist I was hoping to find someone who is proficient, thorough and who has a good rapport with his or her patients. I’ve been a patient of Esther’s for six years now and I’ve had the pleasure of having all of these expectations exceeded. I have the utmost confidence in her work and that of her team. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Esther better and I have frequently encountered her qualities of compassion, kindness and generosity. In the past I have been nervous about undergoing certain dental procedures but now, knowing what excellent care I always receive at the clinic, I have become much more relaxed. Over the years I have discovered that not only is Esther passionate about her work in her clinic, she is also committed to giving back to the local and global community, which makes her an inspiring role model. She has taken time out of her busy schedule to share her expertise through peer teaching, to educate school children, and to work oversees providing care on international dental mission trips.
